Trademark registration cost: what you pay and what the total is made of

The four lines of the total

The total you pay for an application has these lines, shown separately on the payment page:

• The state office fee – of the General Directorate of Industrial Property (DPPI) for Albania or of the Kosovo Industrial Property Agency (KIPA) for Kosovo – with the first class and the certificate; each additional class is charged separately.
• Legal representation – the work of the licensed representative who files the mark and follows the procedure.
• The administration fee of the TMA platform.
• The transaction fee, which applies equally to card and bank transfer.

What affects the cost

• The country: Albania and Kosovo have their own fees. If you need both, they are two applications, each with its own total.
• The number of classes: the first class is included in the office's base fee; each additional class is charged separately. Choose the classes you will really use – the AI class agent proposes essential, recommended and protective ones.
• The services you request later, such as renewal, opposition or transfer, which have their own price.

How you pay

Two methods, with the same total to the cent:

• By bank card, on UPay's secure page: the application proceeds as soon as the payment is confirmed. The payment is processed by UPay; TMA never sees or stores your card number.
• By bank transfer: the bank details are shown, you make the transfer and upload the payment slip (JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 5 MB); a TMA administrator confirms it. While the slip awaits confirmation, a card payment for the same application is not allowed, so that you never pay twice.

Pay only within the platform and do not accept requests for payments or arrangements outside it.

What you receive after payment

• A proof of payment (non-fiscal), issued automatically and available among the mark's documents or under Payments.
• The tax invoice, issued within 48 hours and available on the mark's page.
• The power of attorney by e-mail, to sign and send within 30 days.
• The filing of the mark by the representative within 2 calendar days of payment.

The cost of services and monitoring

For services after the application – renewal, opposition, transfer of ownership, licence, data change, international registration and more – TMA sets the price: the office fee, the professional fee and the administration fee, with the transaction fee included in the payment. When the representative or TMA bills you for something on your mark, you receive a payment request, which you pay the same way.

For monitoring you subscribe for 12 months, 120 months or until the mark expires: under 12 months is charged pro rata from the 12-month price; over 12 months at the monthly rate of the 120-month price, but never less than the 12-month price. For many marks there may be packages, when TMA has priced them.

Refunds: the rule you need to know

Under the Terms of use, every payment on the platform and every step with the office is non-refundable – even when the office refuses the mark. The only exception is a payment made twice by mistake for the same obligation: the extra amount is returned to you. So before paying, search the name, read the name check results carefully and consult your representative.

How to keep the cost under control

• Search before you apply: a refusal is not refunded.
• Choose the classes you use today and those you will really start soon, not “just in case”.
• Choose the type of mark and the owner carefully, so that you do not need a new application.
• Send the power of attorney on time and answer quickly when your representative asks for a document.

Every payment on the platform – application, service, monitoring or payment request – carries two lines: TMA's platform administration fee and the transaction fee. You see both separately before paying.
